The Future of Lakewood

For the last three years there was not a single non sibling slot in the Cheder FWIU. This means there was not a single oldest boy in the entire grade. Part of this was because they cut down a class and moved it to the Jackson Cheder. After 3 years Jackson mostly fills up from sibling from the first 3 years, while now Lakewood will have much fewer second children since there were no firsts for three years.

They only cut down a class (from 10 to 9) the first year. The next year, they were back to 10 (in the old Cheder). (Meaning, the current second grade has 9 classes. First and Primary has 10. In the new Cheder, second has 2, first has 2, and primary has 3, IINM)

What happened here? And why would schools be removing cameras because of this?

In both cases the Prosecutor's office left with recordings of those incidents, effectively removing the decision to prosecute or not from the owners and leaving the decision solely in the hands of authorities.

It sounds to me like the right word might be "report" rather than "prosecute."

Neither. DB building was built in 1938 on the opposite side of the street. Here is the drugstore. (Clifton used to have a grassy median.) You can see the horse and dog water fountain across the street. It was moved in 1938 when they built the post office (DB).
You can see on the 1895 insurance map that the post office was across the street next to the drugstore (Harrison’s party must have been in power.) The Laurel Hotel took up pretty much the entire area where DB and NPGS Main St are now.

By the way since you are interested you can see on the maps that Cedar Bridge road is called Old Plank Road and  from Hurley to Main it is called Meadow Road. That’s because Cedar Bridge originally was built with wood planks to haul iron ore from the Bergen Iron Works near the present day Hurley to the coast to ship it out. Meadow road was built as a separate road and later became part of Cedar Bridge.
