Truly unbelievable. Could be taxed more, although we already past the max annual rate cap. Don't see how any judge can accept this joke of a "report":

Seems like the tuition relief bill is in serious peril, and would need a miracle to pass. It garnered a lot of attention, and thus the opposition of the progressives, including the powerful teacher’s union.

But we’ve seen miracles before so I’m not giving up hope.

Why are the teachers union opposed to it more than any other random person?

Because they love being part of the Public School monopoly. Anything that makes an alternative more attainable is bad for them.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Still don't get it. Will their salaries go down because of this?

Are there really people who thought that this would pass? Like, all it takes to massively overhaul the education system for the entire state is one freshman assemblyman proposing a new bill?

Friedman has been significantly harsher in the past. The opposition from the teacher's unions was obviously expected. This was all just step one.

Because if they give vouchers, people will switch their kids out of the failing public school system. Public school system has less students. Less students means less union membership-paying teachers.

They genuinely believe in the public school system and are therefore on that "team"

More importantly, fewer students means fewer propaganda victims

Possibly to zero if the PS system needs fewer teachers
