Adding AA FF# to BA ticket trick

Called AA. Took <5 min. Got my aa ff number and free bags showed up right away. Hold times are random. Sometimes immediate sometimes hours. Status or not. Same goes for every airline. Can't keep bagging on aa for EVERYTHING

I guess. I want to associate my Alaska MVP FFN to the reservation, but I used two main seat extra coupons (from the AAdvantage 40 years anniversary promo) to pick Premium Economy seats sold as main cabin extra, and officially the AA account it comes from has to be on the reservation, so I'm afraid I will lose the seats if I switch the FFN number (Alaska MVP can only choose Main Cabin Extra 24 hours before the flight).
