With Callcentric, I don't understand. You pay for a phone number and you can receive faxes? How much if I only want a fax line? I can't figure it out. Thanks.
The best thing about callcentric is that you get a number(s) and that number can be used for multiple things all in one. You can use it as a calling card. You can use it to forward calls to international numbers for very cheap. You can use it to set up a business type of line (the one that says "press 1 for bla bla bla, press 2 for bla bla bla...). You can use it on a mobile phone's VoIP software.
One of the features that you can set the number that you get, is, to receive faxes. They automatically email it to you or store it on their system so you can view it on their website (I think).
As someone mentioned before, you can get a free NY number and if you write that you live in a different state you won't have to pay 911 surcharges. So it will be a totally free number.
Then they have different plans you can choose from. One of their plans you can choose from is called "pay per call" which doesn't have any monthly fees and has free unlimited incoming calls (therefore I believe receiving unlimited faxes will be free). Only outgoing calls will be charged per minute based on where you're calling (they are very cheap).
I think you have to load your account with $5 in order to change to this plan. But I think it's very worth it for all the things you can do.
