Well congrats to them. It was the first British comedy that I ever found even remotely funny. Mostly because they were poking fun of themselves and it was extremely racist

Ms Williamson said Riley was locked in the compartment for up to 10 seconds in complete darkness.

Wow, he was stuck in there for (up to) 10 whole seconds!
that's just terrible, I could see why she'd be traumatized for life...

You guys intrigued me enough to download the first season.
I watched the first episode but I doubt I'll finish the rest.  1.5/5 stars at best IMHO.

You need to watch at least 3 episodes and have spent time in Yeshiva with some Brits (and no, some Crown Heights native who's doing shlichus in Birmingham doesn't count) in order to really appreciate it.

I did the same. The first ep was pretty bad, but try the 2nd I don't think you will be disappointed

The only Brit I was ever in yeshiva with was in Smicha in LA.  Never really knew him though as he was a prolific sleeper, sometimes not showing up in zal for the entire week.
Tuition down the drain as he didn't end the year with Smicha (Well neither did about 5 others out of the 24 of us including one jewish music singer who was already too busy performing ;D)

Anyway, still worth watching if I don't have Brit friends?
