Something people often seem to forget is that, it's not a mistake that what happens in an orthodox married couples bedroom was not publicized or spoken about in the open. The way it always was since the time of the gemara is that these things weren't spoken about and they were supposed to be kept quiet. And along come rSB and starts getting on tv and talking about sex, and that is a serious problem in the orthodox viewpoint
(Sorry to the moderators and others, as this conversation probably belongs elsewhere.)
I understand and have the utmost respect for chazal and the Gemara etc. But another perspective -- and I guess this would be among the more "modern" of the modern orthodox -- is that the customs and observances do need to be adapted to the challenges and threats of the 21st century.... Look, I'm no expert here, and maybe I shouldn't have even responded in the first place. But I'll say this: if this little dialogue leads just one DDFer to read RSB because his (or her) marriage is on the rocks, and if that knowledge helps them, then I think we're all better off. Shabbat Shalom.
