Scenic roads are awesome during the day and nauseous at night. Try and do as much driving as you can while it's still day.
Its just not fun to drive at night.

Yes only night drive really is yosemite to tahoe, I go to cali coast often but I wanted to hit up these venues with my sisters.

Life is about the journey, not the destination... its my first trip to either vegas, yosemite, tahoe, bay area... i'll see a bit of all and return

I would skip Tahoe. the truth there's enough that's beautiful to see that I wouldnt want to cram every single thing in.
+1
Its out of the way and unnecessary. .

In the olden days of AAA sheet maps, they used to show scenic routes with dots over them. Truth is, if you're doing that much driving, you should do at least some of it on main highways to at least leave yourself some time at the highlights

BH it was amazing.. except for staying by friends family in a crappy SF area.. got back from SJ at night after a wine fest which incliuded 20+ wines.. and yes it was 12:30 and my hosts were sleeping and i had to pee.. so i ran the heck in and forget to get my backpack as my sisters parked

So now a junkie has $5 in crack and im out a laptop.

Hertz no insurance as I used chase saphire to rent. laptop purchased with amex spg but on jan 27

F***r also took my prescription sunglasses, i'm probably more pissed about that
