Aldi cashiers are the quickest from any store in my (limited) experience. (obviously doesn't help too much if there's only one cashier and tons of customers)
My memories from trying the Howell store years ago were of one cashier and a line 10 or 12 deep. I won’t go into a store where there is routinely a 15 minute line at checkout if I can help it. Not worth my time.

That is because they are timed like how much time between customers, how many items scanned per work time etc. Ever notice they are constantly pausing their system if a customer takes too much time? or asking you to load your card into the card reader mid checkout.

Yet the wait remains.
Try Shoprite, Walmart, Stop and shop etc. - no lines yet long wait..
