So what I don't get is why are there 2 separate ways to get 2% redemption..

1) Points redemption 2% statement credit on any purchase
2) Points redemption for Travel charge 2%

Doesn't 1 cover everything including the travel charge.. so no matter where you book it from you still get 2%..

It's a marketing gimmick so that can claim to compete with Amex Platinum.

Booking for a travel charge has so many loops to jump through, is not worth it (read the terms in the cardmember agreement)

On the lower level cards I think there may be a difference though.

1) Barclay's recon is giving me BS about too many new accounts with them and with other lenders. Called twice already. Any point in calling more?

2) My wife applied for Hawaiian back in November, they said they need to verify her info,  they asked for pic of ID and bank statements. I Faxed them already twice and still haven't heard from them... first time they said they didn't get them, second time I didn't call but I assume they'd have the same response...
Is this fraud flag just regarding the Hawaiian app or if she applies now for the gold it will automatically be put under the same flag?

GOOD NEWS FOLKS: (well needed after the serve closures)
I just had a supervisor offer me a full refund of the annual fee of $995, after discussing an issue with the account. I guess it won't be hard getting it when trying to close.

They are strict with the gold card, try again in a few months.

Could be. I took it to mean when calling to say you were going to cancel because of the AF.

My account was locked out for a while due to a fraud alert. Sent in requested docs and had to chase them until it was opened
My AF refund is already showing
