Is the card in any way worth keeping? Does it have any good benefits?

If you open it in November/December and time it well, the bonus pays for the 1st year annual fee, you triple-dip the $200 airline credit, get global entry and a flashy card to show your friends.

The lounge access seems to work after cancelling the card, but this is still TBD.

Already, for a TU pull this is pretty good...

Global entry is useless for me. I can throw in a plat whenever I'm bored for the $200 credit(s). My friends roll their eyes when they see another credit card, and don't know the difference between a slate, a sapphire, and an amex black. The $1k bonus is the biggest thing going for it. I don't like this "luxury card servicing", the system sounds pretty small to try to slip through. The AF should be avoidable, making this a quick $1200 and a gold plated card. (One day, maybe I'll get a chase palladium for a metal card worth showing off.)

How will they stop you from canceling? I say go for it.

They won't stop you, but they can revoke the statement credit.

You are contradicting yourself over there. The special servicing and tight system, is exactly the reason why the AF may NOT be as avoidable as we may hope.
