Do what many people do for chase etc., decrease you credit limit with Barclay's by 10k, wait a few days, and apply.

If your report is as good as it was when you opened the A+, the system should see that it can allocate you another 10k, and it should go though.

Clawback is not a way to get around the annual fee.
It is just something that MAY happen if you cancel to get back the fee right after earning the bonus, (within 60 days)

According to phone rep, you have 60 days from when AF posts to cancel and get the whole thing refunded. After that, it is NOT prorated. (can't confirm this, just quoting what he told me.)

Not from luxury card, for the simple reason that they haven't existed in any meaningful way until now.

I'm not saying that this deal ain't worth going for, in fact I'll probably do it myself in the near future.

All I'm saying is not to spend $1000 that you don't have, on this card, until you know that it is safe...

Not since the chase <6 month clawback policy, but I haven't looked. I also this there isn't much to worry about.

Years ago, chase would try to claw back points on some cards if they were closed within 6 months.
