the question is if the nurse had the actual ticket in the nursing home with her -- and they all saw the numbers together? Or did the son send in a photo?

It's so obvious that she's the real winner but they're walking it back for privacy. Better to be known as a nasty prankster then a lottery winner.

California is not one of the 6 states that allow you to claim anonymously (nor are the other 2 states where winning tickets were bought), so it's irrelevant - you can't walk it back forever.

Right, but they have a year to get their ducks in a row...

They can do that without fabricating a story. Until they claim the prize, it's just an unconfirmed claim, among several others out there (as we've already seen in this thread and others).

I guess we shall see.  I just think at the end we'll see that she really did win...

They should have asked him if that's the store where his tickets were purchased.

I rest my case ;) I said from the beginning that i still think it's real.

It's very simple, with all the excitement that they won the word got out way to quickly without thinking about their safety etc

So, they say it was a prank, this way people are upset but they'll give up and lose interest after a day or so.

That's a good point but it would be irrelevant. Whether he bought the ticket or she bought the ticket it would still be "his employee".

He said on the clip that he spoke to the nurses who saw the actual ticket the night that she won.

Won't lose interest after a day. It definitely helps her that 2 other people won, though.

If it wasn't a prank, she'll wait until one of the other winners reveals him or herself. But she definitely will get publicity when she claims the prize.

That would be fine but by that time she would have everything all set up to announce and advised how to deal with all the complications and situations of winning a lottery.

Like I said before, she doesn't need to lie to do that. You're not required to claim it right away. Until she claims it, she has no more than she has now.
