Ota bait'n switch
« on: January 14, 2016, 04:36:27 PM »
I was searching for a flight from tlv-yyz, and and I found that using kayak.ca came up about $50 cheaper on average. What was amazing though, was that one ota offered a flight on el al with the first leg in business class. (R/T ~$740).
Fortunately, I grabbed a screen shot of the booking page showing clearly the first leg in business.
The confirmation page, and email,  show a round trip in economy.
I checked el al's website, and the ticket is confirmed.
I booked with amex. Any one have any thoughts on what I should do next?

You can try to get them to honor it. Otherwise you can get a refund.

I can't imagine an ota would want to honor it at that price. Any way amex would help?

For some odd reason LY W class (the lowest economy class) often shows up as business, but I believe it's just a system error. I wouldn't keep my hopes too high.
