ThursdayWe woke up Thursday morning with that bittersweet feeling of a trip coming to an end. We checked out the mini mart in the Westin, and stocked up on food for the day. After breakfast and packing our bags, we went to check out the hotel grounds. There were a couple of pools, swim up bars, and local vendors selling souvenirs. The beach area was quite large, and it was easy to find a secluded spot. It was quite a sunny day and the ocean was beautiful. The different hues of blue were stunning. The water was really shallow and people would be out 30-40 feet standing and drinking (Waiters do serve along the beach but don’t enter the water).
Late checkout at this Westin was 12pm

. While checking out, I received a notification that our plane was delayed an hour. With some extra time, we decided to go back to the large outdoor mall near the hotel. We scheduled a taxi to take us to the airport, left our bags with the front desk, and crossed the street to the mall. Round 2 at Haagen Dazz

. After lounging around, we headed back to the hotel and took our taxi to the airport. At the departures area, we saw an exchange center offering 15MXN per dollar (so we got back pennies after trading our pesos to dollar

). Security was a breeze and the flight back to JFK was uneventful.
Once again, I had a great time. Thank you Dan for expanding the knowledge and usefulness of points/miles through your website and this forum.
