Starting to get congested in the fruits and vegetables section. They need to work on a queue for the fish/meat/appetizing counters.
Long lines already, I have 6 items in my basket and I am in the express lanes. It's been 4 minutes. ( I'm typing this as I wait)
12/13 lanes are open.
They are giving free pepercrusted tuna samples.

Not in my experience
Really? I find that they are generally comparable as far as groceries. For baby formula and those type of stuff they're not expensive though.

Thats why they call it an soft opening. They need people to shop so they can find all the problems.
You can't blame them till a few weeks in.
I'm not who you think I am.

Care to elaborate?

There are itmes that they compete on, but officially its more expensive then KRM, as KRM is a discount grocery & GG is a high class shopping experience.

I find the prices to be pretty similar, and GG often has some pretty good sales.

Yes they cut a lot of space, in the front where you come in on the left, is coming a wine store and a coffee shop in the back to the right they cut off a huge section for storage which Shop rite didn't have.

I think with the Lakewood growth there's enough space for another mega store like GG
how about another 2?

It should not take 9:43 to go through 5 customers that have less then 10 items - even if they were paying with quarters!

I just went today here's my take: the store (like 2/3 of what shoprite was) is totally not ready lots of empty shelf space all over... like by the vegetables there was really no setup some tomatoes here another type in between some other veg. cherry tomatoes somewhere else.. seemed a little chaotic with the workers being told do this.... go there.... I thought it was gonna be really nice but its just not ready.. that being said the sale prices on many items were very good I have never seen them get that low in Lakewood! and there were a couple of items extremely well reg.priced I saw at the produce dept. tomatoes and kirbies under a $1lb!! But... there is no way Lakewood can handle another 2 of these mega stores impossible someone is going to go under....

96 oz. Canola oil was on sale for 3.69, never saw that in Lakewood
Box of clementines 2.99 compared to npgs at 4.99
And all types of chicken were cheaper than npgs and they didn't need haircuts! :-)

The comparison should be made on regular items. Not special sales. -unless the sales are a "regular" event - like shoprite z"l.
