So they will issue you a single $750 gc? That's how I'm interpreting that.

I am interpreting it as a customer service rep who doesn't know what he is talking about. Other way I see it is that they issue one $15 gift card thinking I only got one wrong item not 50.

I've gotten Walmart reps to promise me plenty. Unless you have a order/confirmation number for what they've promised you, it's worthless.

So how does this play out with Amex? I got 30 cards by email. $10 each. I'm assuming they have no way to take them back by voiding them. So I tell Amex I didn't get my $25 cards, show them proof, and I get my $300 back AND I can still use the $10 cards? Is it stealing to use the $10 cards if I didn't pay for them?

Or can I tell Amex to refund me $180 so my effective cost is 40% of the $10 cards? We're entitled to that deal since that is the "contract" walmart agreed to.

Anything I'm not aware of?

Walmart can void the cards you already have if they want.

Oh ok, so what would happen if I used them? What would be my standing with Amex? Can I still contest the charges since the order wasn't filled properly? Would Amex allow a 60% discount on the $10 cards as was supposed to be applied to the $25 cards that never came?

My guess would be if u use them, you are accepting the sale as is, and not voiding it. That makes it into a difficult dispute. Why not dispute first and see what happens.

+1 I ordered 200 (2k for 5k) with same thinking. Worst case scenario A they send me 200 $10 gift cards and I lose all fights - I find this extremely unlikely - I will resell for 90% and be out $200 and time (although I will have 2000 points). Vs the (also extremely unlikely) scenario B of getting 200 $25 GC, reselling for a 2500 profit or the very likely C) have orders cancelled and possibly get something to compensate.

In order status on Walmart app for physical cards it lists all of them as $10 GC's.

The same exact "unable to verify billing info" garbage, too. If they refuse to admit they made a mistake in their cancelation emails, I have no reason to feel bad fighting them over that mistake.

The same exact "unable to verify billing info" garbage, too. If they refuse to admit they made a mistake in their cancelation emails, I have no reason to feel bad fighting them over that mistake.

They would obviously come up with some better wording and apology if time constraints would allow them to. They were in a mad rush and had to blurt out something at the spur of the moment before the system can start generating the eGCs. And I'm sure they have it worked out that at the spur of the moment this wording would be the best way to go with least hassle to have to deal with later. They're a big enough company with enough previous history of such blunders.
