Wow thanks for answering all the questions. I was very lucky not to have almost any smog in Beijing, but that's one of the benefits of going at the end of January (despite the freezing temps). I hope to go back to China at some point to see Xi'an and Shanghai, so I hope to use the info provided....eventually.
