Happy to see you had an enjoyable flight. Agree with the service! The food actually looks quite decent. Are you Vegetarian or what made you choose this option?

Thursday, January 21: Transiting NRT
We landed on time at gate 46 in terminal 1. Like with all transit passengers, we needed to clear security even though we were continuing on the same flight. I was the 2nd one off the plane, and as soon as I got off I was met by a SQ rep apologizing that they didn’t have any KSVML for me in NRT, just a plain KSML. As a backup, they had stocked the plane with a boatload of fresh fruit and a couple different entre options for me, one pareve, one not. Suffice to say I told him that sufficed just fine on a flight I didn’t plan on eating anything on in the first place.

After clearing security without any fuss, I proceeded straight to the ANA F lounge on the 4th floor, the same floor we already happened to be on.

Unlike other reports of the ANA F lounge, I found the shower situation to be quite excellent. Not only was there absolutely no line to speak of, but they also handed you your own mini bottles of body wash and shampoo. The water pressure was excellent as well.

After showering I spend some time in the lounge before heading back to the plane for the flight to SIN.

NRT-SIN
Ok, so there’s not much to tell about this leg of the trip. The only thing I’d like to point out is that double beds are awesome!

After that anything smaller may seem cramped. Disclaimer: I'm trying CX F next week.

I had the flight attendants make up the beds right after take off and promptly went to sleep. I woke up 90 minutes before landing and had “dinner” or whatever they call a meal at 1:30am local time. This time it was catered by Hermolis (score!) and was delicious as usual. The one thing I didn't get was the "Royal" potatoes. It was just like a gratin without the cream but with eggs. It was kind of bland, but the flavorful veggies made up for it.

First course

Main course: Royal Potatoes with Roasted Vegetables

We landed right on time at the God awful hour of 3:15am, where I proceeded straight to the most private of lounges SIN has to offer: The Private Room.

Don't ask how I got in. I simply presented my boarding pass at the lounge and they told me to go to the First Class lounge. After a few hours the manager came over to me and invited me to TPR.  I have no idea why, but I for one wasn't complaining.

Great stuff! For a second I thought we wouldn't get a pic of SQuites! Glad we did and you enjoyed the double bed!

You do realize it's quite possible for you to miss the entire birth (My first kid was 3 weeks early second kid was 5 weeks early)... No trip in the world can get me to miss that... #JustSayin

+1.   She's not due until March. Super slim chance she'll be 6 weeks early with  a first kid.

Exactly. She wasn't pregnant until a month and a half after I booked.

Nice!

You went to a different ANA Suite Lounge than Dan and I did.

You went to T1-S4, we went to T1-S5.  Totally different shower room and lounge.

Boarding was announced and I made my way down to gate 148 for my first ever trip in F and on an A380. Wow is she a beautiful bird.

Personally, I disagree. I think the A380, for all its creature comforts, is a pretty fugly plane.

Anyway, now that you got into TPR (#teamlucky), you can see it ain't nothin'. Pretty underwhelming overall.

About a month later, towards the end of August, the doctor told us that my DW would not be allowed to fly after, get this, January 20, 2016, the exact date we were supposed to depart on our trip. Yikes!
