Getting back 20% from amex MR redeeming

Officially, the Amex platinum has a bonus that when you redeem miles, on every 5,000 miles redeemed you get back 1,000 miles. Has anyone get this bonus till now?
also, does transferring to an airline qualified to receive that bonus?

  transferring does not qualify.  i believe to get the bonus, you have to redeem through amex travel services and they have limited availability if you want to use the points for hotels.
