In all but the rarest of circumstances, vacation is never *needed.* No one is talking about need.

Your position is risk averse, which is fine, but don't insult the many people here who are perhaps less averse than you by implying any position other than yours is "illogical and risky."

Not to mention the fact that the affected areas grow exponentially with each passing week.

Lots of vacation/ sightseeing places have risk involved, Med, terror, third world, (parts of Africa...) people are weighing the risks

I am not talking about a beach destination, I just see the beach often, I do find the caribbean beaches more attractive.. my brain... 5$ says dan knows what I was going to allude to.

This place is full of people sharing their opinions. I was just sharing mine - yes, risk averse.

The affected areas growing rapidly only makes the case against going to an island that has "not yet been affected" even stronger. (i.e. Bahamas discussed above)

True. I understand that now. I offered my opinion to those weighing the risks, but that's all it is - my opinion.

to mostly minimize biting, i find them way more effective vs spray. to protect you from a single bite with zika, i don't think so

zika doesnt scare me any more than west nile virus did.. im just curious about keeping mosquito's away in turks and caicos.. never liked spray

I personally don't use spray anymore and just go with those (haven't used that specific brand though to say if its good, but they should be fine) some people find the smell annoying, although compared to spray its a no brainer.

Any chance AC will refund an award ticket due to zika ?
The ticket was booked a couple of weeks ago, and flight is less then 21 days from now.

If you can quickly get a doctors note they should do it

DL did it for me just by calling in and no note; AA required a note and I submitted it for a refund and it was approved
