Any update on Dr Shanik's advice??
his decision is based off the CDC.  so no news on that end.  he also writes that in the last 45 days there were no new reports.

on a side note, anyone ask their pediatrician about taking under 1 year old kids to zika area?

I heard through the grapevine that two babies with zika were born to frum families in Brooklyn. is this true? I'm skeptical to believe since I would think that such news would have nationwide coverage

The baby wouldn't be born with Zika, chv it could have defects is that what your saying?

This type of thing was news worthy 7 months ago, unfortunately it's cheaper by the dozen now it seems.

The news was going around a week or 2 ago. With no confirmation from any reliable sources (for now it's just whatsapp news, which 85% of the time is just rumors)

CDC would have been all over it. Liability would be enormous if they concealed it. Fake News

I have heard from close friend (whom i really trust. If not then i wouldn't quote him ;))  that its his cousin that had the zika baby in brooklyn. He actually gave me names. Although i wonder why the CDC has no info about it...  i think the kid might have been born with something else and the family decided to say it was zika

CDC? Liability?
You're kidding right? The criminal and civil liability that would rain down on the CDC, government officials (state and fed) and any drs/labs/hospitals that would be involved in a coverup of actual known local transmitted cases of zika would be severe, not to mention the instantaneous death of the entire State of Florida's tourism...we are not talking about 9/11 here, when for national security reasons, not to mention 3,000 deaths, they lied about the air quality, yet still have gotten sued for 15 years and will pay out around 30 billion when all is said and done...no way in the world any lab, doctor or hospital would ever help in such a coverup, as I am sure you know that testing for zika is complicated and does not involve a mouth swab or simple blood test.

But of course, this forum which can't keep a trick to get 10,000 free miles from amex out of the public forum, somehow knows through the "grapevine" and other "back channels" what the news media and public is not privy too and is part of a successful coverup by the Governor and Fed Government on down.

Maybe, before people harm the livelihood and family relationships of people who live and work in Florida they should think a bit. That goes for all the NY Tristate docs who are not any more informed than what you and I can easily read on the CDC website, which is updated daily, and not by Karen the temp on the 3rd floor of their headquarters in Atlanta, but by a joint task force  dealing with Zika. Yet, the doctors in the NY area continue to say to avoid the entire State like it's a Fukashima no-go zone. At least it seems Dr. Shanik is authentic enough to mimic the CDC.

Like I said, FAKE NEWS.
