8 out of 9 had heart problems!? That's an insane percentage.

It's also a very small sample.

For those of you concerned with Zika in miami the CDC doesnt recommend not to go there anymore as of June 2:  More info here:

Whoa!  That article REEKS of some heavy duty pressure (or $$?) behind the scenes.  Not normal.
The language is unnecessarily repetitive unless there is an agenda behind it.  Even with the unnatural language, they still list MANY cautionary steps to cover themselves (because they know the truth).  What, if someone traveled June 2 they're at risk, but as of June 3 they're not?!

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Any insight as to why Guadeloupe and Martinique were removed from the CDC's list? Both seem to have been hit pretty hard last year.

I've briefly read two cohort studies, and as far as i understand there has not been 1 single case of zika related birth defects from patients who contracted the virus in the United States. Can someone prove me wrong?

What does that prove? That pregnant women avoided the Miami area like a plague?

No women who live or work in Miami area have become pregnant since Zika arrived there?  Are they closing down the maternity wards of all Miami area hospitals?

I could be wrong, but I believe that some people believe that this is because the mosquitos here don't carry the same strain of the virus. So while Zika may cause birth defects in S. America etc, the "Zika" here does not.

PR definitely has.
The number of pregnant women who got Zika in the mainland is very small.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
