A mirrers trip to la
« on: January 26, 2016, 01:43:58 PM »
In the middle of November my wife's 2 best friends went to London to do some touring  and my wife decided she wants to join them and leave me with our 2 kids for 3 days, and I knew I needed to plan some good payback so I waited for a good opportunity to take a solo trip as revenge. My sister was due around then so we decided that if it's a boy I should go in for the Bris.

Sunday afternoon a week and a half after my wifes trip my mom calls that my sister had a girl (of course) and requested that me and my wife should come to la for the kiddush. My wife and I discussed it and we decided that since Chanukah was the coming Sunday night my daughter needs to light with at least one of us so we will take a rain check for a later date.

Monday night I was looking on united and noticed that there was availability on Lufthansa biz through FRA leaving Israel Thursday morning and getting back Monday evening so I was like you know what I'll book and will cancel on Wednesday if dw doesn't approve. So I call up sq and get introduced to the world of daft phone reps who don't know how to book flights and try explaining to me that sq doesn't get the same availability as ac, ua and Ana. Finally after 4 huca's I finally get the exact itinerary that I wanted and it was time to break the news to my wife that I want to go to la for shabbos. So my wife gets home and I'm like just btw I booked myself a ticket to go to the kiddush. She tells me "yeah I knew that was coming ever since my London trip so go ahead and enjoy it." So now I decided that I'm going to surprise everyone back home and keep it a secret until i show up.
to be continued...

it looks like quite a few people in another had taanis about this but by me and i think this goes for most people it was more that i always felt bad leaving my wife to deal wth the kids by herself for a few days so i never did it until she showed that she doesn't think its too hard to do so then when i had a reason to go i went without feeling too bad  :)
