Relax.
I didnt opine on whether or not one should take the money pre appology.
I said that post appology you can take it if no strings attached.
Assuming you accept his public appology as sincere and complete.
Do you agree?
B'kavod No. Because I am talking from the schools perspective. I am not opining whether or not there was any chilul Hashem (plenty here including yourself clearly think it was). So according to you, if it was a massive chillul Hashem, then its even worse if they take the money. It's so simple. It demonstrates that money is more important than Torah. Do you agree?
Now, once an apology was issued, perhaps there is some wiggle room (perhaps not), but why did not one school say they are not taking before he apologized? And why did at least one school not say, that UNLESS he apologizes they wont take. Why did no one make that public? And, if you say that post apology everything is fine and dandy (which by the way seems a bit too easy going in the case of a massive chillul Hashem) then you must agree that any school that holds that he missed the boat and made a chillul Hashem was wrong for holding on to the money. Do you agree? Why not? (and sorry if I am too harsh, folks dont like that. Only a "right wing" svarah can be harsh not a "left wing" svarah).
