The cancellation fee is huge if you can't use the Zika excuse, but I still should have booked many more of these so that I can use them on non-Canadian flights well into 2017 for just 250 miles. For me, it was very difficult to use these ex-Canadian tickets as intended since I know almost nobody in Canada. Much better to use residual value ex-US even with the big cancellation penalty.

I tried getting a refund on one of these, and it ended up being a refund of 250 miles. I'll just keep the credits instead.

Even after the cancelation fee, the tickets can only be used until the 12 month expiration of the date the ticket was issued (roughly Jan 27, 2017). I had one agent make an exception to let me rebook for Feb 3rd, but that's not the norm.
