I quickly pulled it out and dryed it off amd put it in a sealed bag of rice.
Whats a better option and how long do I need to wait. I heard instant oatmeal is better, true?

It's possible, though probably just equivalent.  Just stick with rice; it worked for everyone that I know who tried it.

You should really shake it very hard and knock it against your hands to get out the water through all the openings,
What I did is I unassembled so it should dry quicker.

I also read that a vacuum cleaner can suck out the water.
I also googled and came up with this

Not so pashut. That may cause the water to go into places you don't want it to go

How long to wait? I need the phone

Last week I was in Montreal Snowboarding. Unfortunately the only Jacuzzi they had was outside. I ran from the hotel straight into the Jacuzzi and yes you guessed it I forgot my phone was in my pocket. Around 5 minutes later it hit me, I touched my pockets said some explatives and quickly jumped out. I looked at my Nexus s5 and kissed it good bye. I figured I had nothing to lose, I would do the good old rice trick. Unfortunately for me on many androids the only way to remove the battery is by practically dismantling the phone. I sucked out as much of the water as I could and I threw it in a bucket of rice. My carrier is T-mobile so I took out the sim card and borrowed a phone for a couple of days. After 2 days of sitting in rice, and a couple of kappittalach of tehillim my phone turned on lol. No matter what, DO NOT plug it in you must be patient. If you plug it in you will fry the insides of the phone. Good LUCK.

Wait 48 hours minimum before putting the battery back in.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Wait 48 hours minimum before putting the battery back in.
No need.
Forget the rice; just take out the battery bang out as much as you can. Let it sit for about 3 -4 hours the take a blow dryer and dry it. Don't get too close as to not melt anything inside.

Let it sit till the next morning all will be fine.

If the battery was in it for more then 3 min (sometimes even less) say bye bye phone...

I work in the cell phone industry and this is my experience for many many cases.
Money talks...mine says goodbye!

One of my all time favorite things I learned from ddf
They say that if you bury your electronics in rice and leave them overnight, the rice will attract Orientals who will come and fix your device for you.

Yeah, I "conveniently" walked into a lake with my phone in my pocket on a Friday afternoon, so I decided to just wait until Sunday to take it out of the rice, and it worked like it did before.
