I just got this email today from Capital One, I signed up last Friday and was instantly approved.

"Your new Capital One® Venture card was mailed yesterday, and you should receive it within 7 business days. Look for it so you can earn 2 Miles per dollar on all your purchases with the flexibility to book travel any way you choose

Thanks for being a Venture customer"

Still waiting for the email to match my miles.

Approved (with $5k credit line). Time to wait for the email with the matching details, then flood them with mileage account statements.

Note: The guy on the phone said that only a few million (out of a billion) points have been disbursed so far, and that as long as the supply was not depleted when I applied I will be able to match the full 100k.

On Friday I got a letter from Capitol One explaining me the details of the rewards program and telling me the terms of the account I applied for,

Did anyone get the same letter?

I got approved online over a week ago and still waiting for the card.

My wife & I both got the credit cards in the mail & the emails on Shabbos!   The signup is simple - you use the passcode in the email, plus your zip code, and then you select which Miles program you are going to use, enter the miles you are hoping for, and attach a pdf of that miles statement.   Good luck everyone & Purim Sameach!

My husband and I just got the emails as well and I uploaded the statement online.  Haven't checked the mail yet but hopefully the cards are there.

To see how many miles you need to cover a travel expense,
just add two zeros to the cost. For example, if you booked
a $217 flight, you'll need 21,700 miles to cover it.

So what that means is that you can book from any agent or website, use your Capital One card to pay for it, and then either pay the bill or use miles to cover it.

I went online to my Capital One account (that has zero points so far  :-)  and looked up flights for this summer.    I found an EL AL flight for $1,380, and I was given the option of either paying $1,380 or using 138,000 points.   So far so good.

The problem is that - what if you don't have 138,000 points in your account...   You don't have the option of using 100K to reduce your bill by $1,000.   In that case, you would have to get "cash back" which is only half the value - hence you can only get $500 off your bill using the 100K points.

It's great for flights under $1,000 though!

All I can say  - if I don't get those miles you can be sure I will be closing that account before I even activate the card if I do get it I will probably dump my us bank card for this as I should have no problem with last minute ticket redemptions and hotels in Israel, hence the reason for a non miles card being worth it.
Even if you don't get the miles for some reason - it is still well worth using this card in Israel or anywhere overseas, as it is one of the very few cards that does not charge a 3% "foreign" surcharge!

For all of those who have been holding off with this card...... what's the final p'sak?
Is it worth it? Should we sign up for it? will they match the amount of miles in your account
up to 100k or only one posting on your statement.....? (for me 75k) ?
Do you think that the miles have all been used up?

I got approved, I'll know if it's worth it when I see how it affects my future applications.
So long as there are miles left you'll get as many as are on your recent mileage statement (not just posted that period).
One rep told me they only used up a few million miles, I'd get them to note my account with that and use it in a dispute later on if they claim the billion miles ran out.

someone on FT was told that once they reach a billion or even if statistically they should have it from all the applicants, they will pull the link.
Don't count on it though.

I got my credit card yesterday, i also called and got an email confirmation stating they got my AA statement, I was told the 100,000 miles will be credit after 2 billing cycles. I plan on hitting my $1,000 today with a order from the good ole US Mint.

How do you know this..... did you speak to a rep? I couldn't find it explicit in the t&c's

It's great for flights under $1,000 though!

I take it back - you can either split your charges onto two credit cards, or buy AA gift certificates on the Capital One site - without any penalty

I applied on March 10th and received the email on March 20th - so it took 10 calendar days...

I did this too. Two minutes after I submitted my mileage statement (for some reason I had to submit it twice), I checked my status and got this message:

Quote

Your registration form and airline rewards statement were accepted, and your Capital One® VentureSM miles have been reserved. We'll apply them to your account as soon as you spend $1,000 on your new Venture card in the first 90 days.
We'll send you an e-mail when we apply your matching miles to your Venture account.

I find it hard to believe that in two minutes they had a chance to review my mileage statement.

Where I live, Chase, Citibank, and Amex all pull from same agency.

If that's the case, is 3 hard pulls that big of a deal?

Must be harder to keep churning cards of all those issuers if they're all hitting one agency...
