Question to the wise men here:
There's been talk long ago about freezing 1 out of the three credit reports if you have too many inquires on them, and the card you want to apply for usually pulls from that credit report. The result is supposed to be that the inquiring bank will be forced to look at one of the other two credit reports (which have less inquires) and thus increase the chance of approval. I don't know if this ever worked.
The question relating to this Venture card discussion is, assuming you have good credit and want to save yourself from 3 hard pulls in vain, you can freeze two out of the three reports for the duration of the Venture card pull. Will Cap One still approve you based on the 1 report you let them pull from? Anyone try this or wanna try it?
