I got instant approval and my husband got rejected. I was so surprised that my husband got rejected. He always has perfect record. The only thing that has changed since last time he applied for a credit card is that we bought a new car, and he charged full amount to his two credit cards at my request to earn purchase points. That almost used all his credit limit in those two credit cards. But statements haven't come out yet, will that affect his credit score? I didn't think about it before I applied for him.

Of course.
But Capital One is very picky for this card anyway. They instantly rejected my wife when she gets cards from everyone else without a problem.

They seem to immediately reject significantly more folks than other companies.

Just got this email today confirming that my miles were reserved.

"Now that we have received your registration form and airline rewards statement, your 100,000 new VentureSM miles have been reserved.

All you need to do now is spend at least $1,000 on your new Capital One® Venture card by June 13, 2011, and the miles are yours."

When did you apply for your card? Also, when did you submit your registration form and airline rewards statement?

90 days from the date account was open, you have 45 days to submit a mileage statement, but you don't want to wait that long (or wait at all) as they might run out of miles any day now.

But once I get all that and I have the $1100, how long do I have before I need to purchase tickets?

I don't know if there's a set time by when u need to spend the money, but I think someone mentioned earlier that they have changed rules (or something like that) in the past, so you should use it up ASAP.

My wife & I both got approved on Friday - me for 100K & my wife for 90K, and tonight we got emails stating that our $1,000 coins have been shipped - yay!

The Chase bank by me still accepts them

A few months ago, I brought in some coins & the teller asked me "do you have any more?". I was caught by surprise, but said that I did have more at home, so he asked me to bring them all in at once - since the bank has to pay money to send them back, and they would rather have only one shipping charge!

I still find it amazing that the Mint pays big bucks for credit card charges & shipping charges, the bank pays shipping charges too, and we just have to shlep! I wish the mint would deliver straight to the bank
