Got denied for all 3 citi cards (first time clause)
and got approved for continental.

I've been denied by Chase a few times recently, and recently cancelled a few of my cards (I have so many!  ), but will try to re-apply for the AMEX Platinum and other cards after 60 days.   The best line that seems to work with the CSR's is that I need to cancel because I have too much outstanding credit, and "last in first out"...

Tell me about it.  Is there any way to argue them to reconsider?  I know with amex, citi and chase you can usually  work it out.
