If you can use them for 50k (or 40k with AXON) at their top-end resorts, you can get a good value out of them.
Otherwise, it depends on your specific travel plans, if you need them or not.

check-in using topguest, u get 50 points a day. They can lengthen ypur points, andd add up for a free stay

TopGuest have issues with Hilton but seems all is resolved now but they lost many other partners which was a pity as it was an easy way to earn a few extra miles here and there.

you could have your partner/spouse open an account (500 point bonus promo going on for them) and then transfer the points and have 4900 points which should reset the clock

Hilton has returned for me(although Virgin seems to have died and Best Western is long gone as well as United) but hey I figured with this and E-rewards I could get a bit of my travels in at Hilton on the house.
