Up to how many split tenders can you do at hilton checkout without looking super suspicious? (Trying to take advantage of the AMEX hilton and hotel offer).

call ahead of time and ask for the billing/bookeeper/accounting department and explain that you want to prepay by splitting payment.

Will Hilton let me make a points reservation even if I'm a bit short on points if I tell them I'll have the points within a few weeks? I'm diamond if that makes  difference. I know Hyatt and SPG allow it.

Did you call the diamond desk?  Their official policy is that you have to buy the additional points but maybe you could get someone there to help you...

Haven't tried yet. The one time I spoke to Hilton, they didn't even want to tell me how many points a hotel was per night because I had 0 points in my account. Had to force it out of the rep.

ETA: Just got off the phone with the diamond desk and no dice. Said they used to allow it but people were "taking advantage."

I just did. B"H!
After a few HUCAs I got an agent who didn't say anything, just booked it.
Got the confirmation, it's booked as points for some reason but it seems from this thread that many of the properties work that way.

Looks like a carbon copy of Aloft but for Hilton.  It definitely should increase their appeal beyond their current Hampton Inn offerings in that price point.

trying to book weekend citi cert for this sunday at WA JLEM. main hilton reservation desk tells me to call the hotel directly or get this citi. when i called the reservations desk at the WA JLEM they told me to call the hilton number and they don't accept the cert. any suggestions on how to get this booked ?

I just booked 5 nights using 2 weekend certs. They booked as 3 separate ressies: Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday and Monday. I obviously did not get the 5th night free. Should I cancel and HUCA for an agent who will convert certs for points as some were lucky upthread? Any calling advice?
