If I have 2 Hilton accounts (spouses)  and I want to book 2 nights on each account for the same person on points, is there anyway to combine it into one account to take advantage of the 5th night free?

Just don't walk up to the checkin counter with your wife.
+1 I always do that with my kids. I check myself then take my W and kids straight to our room

Not possible. All 4 nights have to be from one account in order to get the 5th free.

It doesn't work.BTDT. We have five nights in Rome. The first four had to be under one Hilton account to get the 5th free night. It's not really a free night. It's 20% off each night which is okay if you're not using weekend certs. I had 2 nights booked with awards (160k points), 2 weekend certs, and wanted to add the 5th free night. CSR had to cancel my previous reservations. I went from having positive points in my account to negative and needing more points to get the 5th night.  Very frustrating. I had the email confirmation of my point change with adding a free night but could not get anywhere.

Having said all that, if there's a work around, someone here will know it. Whether they share it or not is another question. :)

If I cancel a room using points, and there was none available anymore, would it become available again using points?

If I am missing some points can I call up Hilton and have them put the dates I want on hold until I get the points needed?

Why can't I just put a standard room on hold and when I get the points I call in to pay for it with the points?

How much of are you actually missing? It is not crazy for Amex or Hilton to adjust your balance to do you a favor.

They used to allow it. Not anymore.

Also, you can always make a Cash reservation and then switch it to a points one once you have them (as long as there is points availability). Just did that with the Ritz.

Is there a point then? If you still need there to be points availability when you convert the res, you may as well just wait to make the res because in reality you're not holding the room.

True. While I don't know how the Hilton system works, in the Ritz system by me putting down my CC for a Cash booking, they were able to block/hold those "points" nights so I could swap them out with my points once those arrived without having to worry about them not being available then.

Ah, got it. In that case it helps. Don't think Hilton does that though.
