So that's just a brand new booking. If it was a conversion, the reservation number would have stayed the same.

Argh. Didn't think of that. Obviously, I'm still new at all this. Sorry you guys had to ask 101 questions to get to the facts. Lol.

So...not to go off on a tangent but another booking scenario. We have a cruise booked via Citi TYPs. I saw the cruise dropped in price, so per their policy, I called for a refund. It was a difference of 50k points. Rather than credit the points back, they send a refund check. She said it would be $624.xx. They credit back at the 1.25 rate. Our first booking had two onboard credits and she said we'd lose those and wouldn't get to pick our balcony room. I told her no problem as it wasn't worth the $600+ difference. However, we never got a new confirmation number and she noted that it stayed the same. The same room and onboard credits? Maybe? I was on the phone close to an hour while she was contacting NCL and she kep thanking me for my patience.

Not yet. Just did it last week and she said it would take 3-4 weeks. She did verify with her supervisor, and I asked for clarification due to a term she used. If I cancelled the full trip, the points would go back. With a change in reservation they refund the difference.

If a reservation is made on a persons name who doesn't have elite status, but his spouse does have Diamond, and his spouses HHN is on the reservation,  will that help for elite benefits?

Just book it and list him as the "additional guest" and to be safe is also check him in online so he just has to pick up the keys. He can swap out the cc or you can get even more points of its on your Hilton cc ;)

For Accenture employees only. And must be booked with Accenture corporate account. At least according to T&Cs....

Is the only way to get around the 160k annual limit on purchasing points to open another account?
Or can someone gift you additional points?

Hilton doesn't allow you to freely transfer like SPG or Hyatt.

Like CS91 said, there's a fee to transfer. Annoys me no end. To get the 5th night, the reservations have to be under one name. Also, if you're using weekend certs, you'll need more points as its not a true free night but 20% off each night including the weekend ones.

I merged my 2 Hilton accounts 10 days ago and they are still not merged. Is that normal?

Not sure if it's the best way but there is a amex promo for 1 MR to 1.3 VS.
And 2 VS transfer to 3 Hilton.
I never did it so confirm it works before you transfer.

You can also buy Hilton Points with the current promo at .5 cents per point.

Probably better to just sell your MR points and buy the Hilton ones.
