If I'm a hilton gold member thru the amex platinum, and i book a night's stay with my citibank thankyou points as opposed to doing it thru transfer to hilton points or booking it on amex's travel website, will i still get the perks of the gold status???

I don't see why it should make a difference.

Not officially. An email to the GM can go a long way though.

What?

He's a gold member, no matter the way that he books, his account is gold.

That's true, but you can't attach your membership number to the booking. I tried via Citi, Hilton Honors, and calling the hotel. They can't even add the number under notes/preferences. I was Diamond, so I did get the upgrade. Not sure if it was because of status or because they couldn't find the Citi reservation even though I had a confirmation number. First time I ever needed a key card for an elevator.

We also ate dinner there, charged it to our room via Surpass and got points. The stay showed up on the HHonors site.

Is there any worthwhile ways to spend 100k Hilton points in NY or NJ? Any recommendations? And are there any reasonable priced places that offer an in the room hot tub?

Gotta be plenty of places.  Check at round also for points plus cash deals.

A couple hotels changing category July 13th, doesn't seem to be anything significant.

Question. Theres an offer for the Hilton credit card to get 75,000 points after 2000 spend and no annual fee. If I don't plan on using the card (have a number of others) should I take it just for the 75000 points?

Can the 75000 get me a decent hotel for a few days?

Depends on your definition of decent. Based on my definition, yes.

Anyone know when the 75k offer will expire? I don't see it in the offer details.

They refused me the card with the 75,000. I have an incredible rating so not sure why. They said they're sending a letter.
