I get these emails all the time from Hilton about 3 days at resorts in Orlando Vegas etc for 199 is there validity to these is there a catch? Tia

It's legit. The catch is that you're supposed to attend a two hour timeshare presentation

+1, I know people that do it, sometimes they can shorten the presentation by telling the salesman their but interested, sometimes they need to sit through the whole shpeil.

No SUB but occasionally there is a targeted upgrade offer.

If I am booking for someone else under my diamond account will they get diamond benefits? Or it needs to be booked under my name and add them as 2nd guest?

No, and you would also be forfitting you ever getting a sign up bonus on the card. So sign up for the card and cancel the other one if you want the Aspire, which will anyways more than pay for your first years annual fee

Are there workarounds to use a free night cert for 1 night when the hotel has a 2 night stay requirement to get points to show up?

Does it work like Hyatt where you can book and modify to 1 night?
Or like Marriott where you can't do that?

So I've been trying to do that with a points booking, at one property if I was looking at 4 nights it shows only premium room avail but if I searched for 5 nights it came up standard avail, I only needed 4 nights so I 1st booked 5 nights and then I was trying to get the last night canceled. 
My 1st conversation with Hilton chat:

So I contacted the hotel and that was their response:
Dear   ,

Since the reservation was done through the Hilton desk with points the change can only be done through the Hilton desk.

So I went back to Hilton to chat and this is what I got:


and the rep finished: The other option is that you can call our Diamond desk team as you are a Diamond member. They might be able to help you with any exception or alternate option from their end.

only marriot it’s annoying because you need to pay daily resort fees on awards but not Hilton

I have Diamond status with Hilton so I am eligible for room upgrades. They sent me an email for an upcoming stay offering to do check-in online from my computer (and I get to choose my room as well). If I do this online check-in will the system offer me upgraded rooms to choose from, or will it only show me the exact room type that I booked?
