There is a certain level of trust on the miles chats so maybe that goes into the pricing a little. I’m sure a reg broker has more horror stories then people who buy from miles chats. I guess that’s a fair redemption for the brokers

Brokers are brokers. They can't buy at the same rate they are selling at..

Broker buys 400k @ 1.25, sells to another broker or TA, 400k @ 1.3-1.325, make $200-$300 commission.

You're saying he should find a friend (as his broker), and use the friendship card to cut out his friend / brokers parnassa?

Well the friend can also buy the points at a little bit of a higher rate than the guy is getting and then sell the points on the chat and keep the extra money so everyone wins.

Brokers can pay more to people they know/trust and will have an easier time dealing with.
But if selling to a random broker 1.25 is the going rate
