Whenever someone mentions transferring UR points they are always immediately told to apply/upgrade to CSP. But someone don't have any Sapphire cards just Ink and can't get due to 48 month rule.
The 48 month rule does not apply to upgrading, only new cards

So what's your point, no one should mention it because MAYBE that person is in a situation where it's not applicable to him?

My point is that people should try to be helpful in other ways as well, it almost seems like a race to condemn.

If there's supply available at lower prices then why would anyone pay that?

I have just under 300k Chase points with Sapphire preferred. Is it a no brainer to upgrade open a Sapphire reserve and merge the points to give them a higher value?

If you could upgrade you don't need to open a new one.
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

Whats the advantage of an upgrade? Wouldn't I be better off with a new application and getting a signup bonus?

If you are eligible for the signup bonus. (i.e. 48 months from the preferred SUB).
