Amex threatening to not give me sign up bonuses in future

Hey guys, didn't see any thread for this yet... if there is one please point me to it.
I signed up for the Amex plat Mercedes Benz 4 months and got the 50k bonus as well as $200 Airline fee twice (before and after new years). I just called to cancel it and get pro rated refund and they threatened me to mark my account not to get any more sign up bonuses in the future because it appears thats the only reason i opened it.
Should i be worried?! Does that have any truth to it?

Dont think they did an account review. Besides, I haven't done any double dips... its my wife's card and just started opening cards for her 8 months ago.

I was given 1000 Goodwill points on my life is Card .  Then I received a phone call on my mobile number from AMEX telling me that  there was a    Restriction on how muchthey could give me and she cut it down to 3000 points

definitely more scrutiny from American Express

i downgraded 3 plat cards last week and closed 1, all over chat, it went smoothly. calling is the problem......
