My ideal way to travel on leisure is gym sweatpants, polo shirt, cotton socks, bose headphones.
What about you?

Depends on my travel plans.

Day trip = khakis, button down shirt, blazer
Random fun trip. Khakis and polo.
(sometimes blazer)

If i take a blazer then no jacket, if i take a jacket then no blazer

If its a long flight, i usually change in the club or onboard to gym shorts and t-shirt.

Suit and dress shoes if for business (and won't have time to change). Or business casual, depending on trip.

Polo or t shirt and cotton pants if otherwise

and cavs jersey if for cavs game :)

And in J you can't rub legs with the person next to you?

My worst flight yet, was on LH J from JFK to MUC. I was sitting in the seats that are in the middle (2-2-2 configuration). When both mine and the one next to me were in the lie flat position, there was a portion of the seat that had no barrier. So basically the lady next to me kept kicking me in her sleep.

Why would anybody dress differently for flying? Ugh, it's so gross when you see people on planes wearing sweatpants and t-shirts. Look, I'm not the most trim guy and I might also be more physically comfortable in my pajamas, but come on, a little self-respect.

Also, I have come to realize (from DDF) that a lot of us are not so makpid to look Jewish when flying (and even aderaba, which really bothers me) but I really believe that if you are out in public then you have to make an extra effort to look dignified.

What does looking Jewish have to do with looking dignified?
Flying isn't the black tie event it used to be

On a light note, R Aron Fogel of the Brisker Kollel in Yerushalayim once told me that someone once came over to him and asked that he heard that he wears slippers during flights TLV-JFK since the plane goes far enough north that it goes to areas which "skip days or nights" and maybe it is Yom Kippur and wanted to know if that is really a chashash. He told me that the source for that was that one time he was wearing slippers on a flight and some yutz asked him why and he gave such an answer to play around with him but it was really because they are more comfortable.

You can buy sweatpants and t-shirts that are nice looking... Not all of them look like pajamas.

It doesn't matter how other people dress for flying. As a Yid, one should project a more upscale image. I don't think jeans and a polo shirt does that. I also don't think that a langer rekel stained with chicken grease does that either. However you would dress for a relatives chasuna, that should be the rule of thumb.

Not the conversation for this thread, but you're basically demanding that every Jew dress in a suit and tie 24/7. Your welcome and should feel comfortable dressing however you think is appropriate, but that doesn't mean that you can tell everyone else to dress the same way. Live and let live.

Although I strongly agree with your previous post, I think dressing like you would to a relatives Chasuna is a little overdoing it. I think in our circles we can say "dress like you would on Mivtzoim" .

Personally, I dress the same as almost every other day, black dress shoes, black pants, button down shirt and a dark blazer. Now when it comes to a hat, I can't bring myself to get my fedora destroyed every time I travel (from experience, that happens every time). Although I do try to wear something classy instead.

You're right, these days flying is 'Yene Chasuna' and one should dress for the occasion

My signature is worth more than that.

I'm not "demanding" anything from anybody. Just stating my personal feelings and opinion. Dress however the hell you want.
