However you would dress for a relatives chasuna, that should be the rule of thumb.

It doesn't matter how other people dress for flying. As a Yid, one should project a more upscale image. I don't think jeans and a polo shirt does that. I also don't think that a langer rekel stained with chicken grease does that either. However you would dress for a relatives chasuna, that should be the rule of thumb.
Either your weddings look different then mine or your flights do

Neither does a wrinkled white shirt and suit.

I've never heard or someone taking their suit to the dry cleaners for a flight before. Is that what you do, out of curiosity???😜

It seems instead of dressing up for the flight he dresses down for the weddings

Dressing as if your by a relatives wedding is a bit much. Although I do recall hearing Rosh Hayeshivos that told their talmidim to shave before flying even if it was during sefira! Idk.

I think it depends on if it's a night flight or not.

I always wear the same. Polo and long pants and comfortable shoes (sometimes crocs)

I wonder what the ladies say to this thread what they wear.  I always argue with my wife about this...

Slightly extra degree of care is taken, but yeah. The only time I dress "down" is probably for sukkah building.

So, same clothes on shabbos as rest of the week? Rasha!

I'm not "demanding" anything from anybody. Just stating my personal feelings and opinion. Dress however the hell you want.
Please don't get sanctimonious when you discuss how to dress and then disregard the idea of "projecting a more upscale image" when you talk.

I haven't found a perfectly comfortable outfit yet. Most of my flights are in domestic Y FWIW, and I've tried polos, light sweatshirts, jeans, khakis, etc. The fact is that the seats are small and the space is cramped, and that leads to uncomfortable positions where it counts the most.

I generally try to dress in clothes that are comfortable but still a bit nicer looking. There is a balance. For long haul flights I occasionally change into something a bit more comfortable or just throw on a big sweatshirt.  I personally wouldn't want to head onto the plane dressed looking like I'm in Pajamas.   Just flew to TLV recently with a plane full of folks in sweats , T-shirts and their ugh slippers.  Seriously tons of frum Jew's looking like it was their uniform.

No one heard of the concept of a hat and jacket in public? Pretty standard in the yeshiva/chassidish world.
