Wi-Fi options
« on: February 09, 2016, 03:21:13 PM »
I need Wi-Fi for a temp apt for the next two months.
Landlord isn't providing us with anything.
What are my options?

If it helps this temp apt I'm in has Fios cable ready to go, but I still don't think that would be our best option.

Is there any wireless service provider that has a good hotspot plan with no contract?

I could also technically buy a cheap smartphone and leave hotspot on...

I'm pretty pleased with T-Mobile hotspot from iPhone, check coverage in your location.

I'm not on prepaid, didn't know there was a difference in the actual plan.

Maybe FIOS without a contract? You pay a bit more per month,  but not that much.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I'm looking into buying a WiFi extender, because right outside my house there is xfinity but I can't pick it up in my apartment. Any suggestions for a good one? My friend recommended one, however it ships from china and takes a long time to come.

I was using something made by Alpha in Taiwan. It worked until after around 5 months it suddenly died. I'm not sure what the life span of these things are supposed to be. I'm looking for a replacement now.
