Eh, if given the choice between 3 J seats and 2 F seats w lap infant, I'd go for the 3 J seats. 3 J and 3 F is a different animal.

ages 4 and 2 they are getting seats. get 25% discount when booking over the phone for kids, not sure if the F will be availablover the phone. of course i also only have enough miles right now for 4 J seats and wouldn't transfer on the chance that this stay open.

OP have you ( or chuchem) actually got it ticketed ? I've seen ability to book in the past but won't let you complete. ..

A friend of mine called to do a X TLV booking, rep told him that he can't book F even if F shows available, the guy told the rep that he is able to book F online, rep said it's a glitch in the system which is due to a system migration, and even if he has a ticket and ticket number, when he arrives at the checkin counter the rep won't issue a boarding pass if the passenger won't prove that he's a senator member.

I don't see how they could deny boarding if he has a ticket though

They can't. Well, not without risking wrath of DoT.

As a devil's advocate, why can't they say that it's an award ticket booked against the terms and conditions which only allows senator members to book it?

Just like American Airlines and Alaska and even other airlines do all the time
