Seltzer
« on: February 10, 2016, 04:32:05 PM »
Polar is the best Seltzer IMO

They fizz is just right and the flavors really come through.

I stopped drinking soda in September since then I've been on a quest to find the perfect seltzer.

The Polar cranberry lime is awesome.  It comes in cans,  16 Oz bottles  as well as 1 liter and 2 liter.

Peapod delivers S&S in many parts of Brooklyn.  Don't know if that's where you are, just my personal experience.  Their sales closely mirror S&S sales for online delivery but not always.

If you like just plain seltzer there is the Soda Stream system to make your own at home. It's fairly economical (debatable), environmentally sensitive and non-electric. Dan is always posting deals for it.

That's why I don't have one yet - not enough counter space to spare.

FWIW, your local grocery store might deliver it for you. It wouldn't be a subscription, but you could just make yourself a recurring reminder to call/fax/email in an order.

Lots of great polar flavors but the fizz lasts for like 10 minutes.
Don't even try drinking later in the day.

If you need fizz, Be'er Mayim is the way to go. Taste isn't bad either.

That's why I buy the cans or small bottles.  Anything carbonated is better in a can.

The Beer Mayim glass bottles had the strongest fizz.

But sometimes I want a more flavorful drink with gentle fizz.

In my experience, Adirondack seltzer is the very best in flavored seltzer. Mammesh tastes like soda just without the sugar.
My kid actually likes it just as much as he enjoys soda.

What about Clear American? Is that classified as seltzer?

Yup I like BMC. Great strong long lasting fizz.
Though I may add that all fizz is not created equal.

I find that there are many variations of fizz.
Some last. Some don't.
Some are strong. Some are soft.
Some have bigger bubbles. Others are smaller.
And you can have a combo of soft long lasting bubbles.

I don't know all the diff particularities but I think Perrier has the best tasting seltzer fizz (although not the longest lasting). And I absolutely love the Israeli Schweppes Mugaz fizz from any other drink.
