Its not very simple to figure out if you are below 5/24 given AU and business apps. I think most people are just miscalculating theit 5/24 status.
Easy to figure out.

Go to Experian free credit report (or Credit Karma), count all accounts that show there that were opened in the the last 2 years (including AU's).

Add to that the number the Chase business cards opened in the last 2 years.

If it's over 5, you are affected.

It's really not that hard, check your report and anything that has an opening date in the last 24 months is counted. AU should count toward 5/24  for automatic approval but can possibly be taken out when calling recon. Business cards from most banks don't report (chase biz will count obviously) and any that do should go into your count when you're looking at your report. It's really not that hard to tell.

+1. I would wait for the Sapphire reserve for the end of the year. is it safe to say the bonus will still be around?
Why wait until the end of the year?

Double dip travel credit without paying AF then downgrade,  or keep open for a year and triple dip while paying 1 AF.

What makes you think that?

People that never had the cards are getting denied left and right, specifically because of 5/24. It's real.
My personal experience says otherwise.

Triple dipping with this card will cover 2 years AF

Triple dipping with this card will cover 2 years AF
Then you can keep it for a 3rd year and get 4 Credits before downgrading.

You btw did a fantastic summary. Still, i believe a lot of people miscalculate, which makes it extremely hard to gather accurate data.

ANy place where i can check how many chase business cards opened?

This doesn't help for Amex AU cards.

Guess I'm getting confused because we're in a Chase and thread and I thought the AUs were on Chase card. Guess I didn't read carefully. My bad.

My personal experience says otherwise.
Your personal experience shows that there are exceptions to the rule, not that it doesn't exist.

The AU issue towards 5/24 are with both Amex and chase. For chase your suggestion is is an easy fix though it wouldn't work for Amex i believe.

Still more lucrative to get 3 credits and pay one fee.
