Managed to push through a Sapphire card but cant get them to budge on the united explorer.
After a callback from a supervisor they approved the united card as well.

Any recent data points on whether Fairmont and IHG fall under the 5/24 rule?

I currently have 4 chase personal cards open. Does it make sense to close some before applying for new (even tho I'm over 5/24) or shud I offer to transfer and close after it goes to recon?

I know but it may help the fact that I have too many chase cards opened at the same time, or will it?

What about max credit limit? I am planning on closing a card anyway. Should I close card with a few thousand on the limit in order to have a better chance at instant approval?

So I'm way over 5/24, but i have a BA with a large credit limit with the AF due. No other active personal chase cards.
Can they move my credit over to my Ink card?
Or is there a no annual fee Chase card thats not affected by 5/24 that i should look to open?

1) its very hard . YMMV
2) ask them if they downgrade you
No AF cards are freedom unlimited, freedom , slate and regular sapphire .

Good luck

You can't downgrade BA to chase branded cards, And all above cards are affected by 5/24.
