If i call my favorite restaurant and phone in an order for delivery am I abusing the program?
Thank you to those on this group who are honest and respectful. I can no longer be in this group after seeing what people did last night in regards with SBS, and because of those who sarcastically, wrongly, and illogically defend these actions. It angers and saddens me to see what we as Jews ("omg it's not a Jewish forum!") have done collectively. The American Express board members will conviene on Monday and ask, "So how did Small Business Saturday go?". What they will see immediatly that the highest conentration of abuse came from religoius Jews, in Jewish stores, in Jewish neighborhoods. They will have to re-evaluate their strategy for next year. These are the roots of anti-semitism. I became frum for many reasons, and seeing this makes me ashamed to be part of a community that not only does such a thing, but defends it adamantly. I wouldn't care if a few people abused the system because they had a strong desire for money. I get that. But happily taking pictures, sharing, and defending such abuse and such a DISGUSTING chillul hashem is just too much for me to handle. I leave this group and post my thoughts because I simply need to get them out. 99% of you won't care about me leaving (actually, to be honest, 100%). I leave this group because I don't want other people affecting how I feel. I don't know what percentage of people here, or what percentage of people in NY do these things I despise - but whatever that percentage is, it is too much for me to handle.I am sad that Daniel Eleff himself did not discourage such abuse. One who is in a position of influence has a greater responsibility. I know it's easy to say, "I'm not your Rabbi", or "Ask your local Orthodox Rabbi", but Daniel, you do not have that luxury. I choose my words carefully, because I do not want to speak loshen hora specifically against another Jew (who has done many wonderful things for the Jewish communities around the country). I don't blame Daniel for the actions for others, because in the end, we are all accountable for our own actions.I ask that those who wish to continue to take advantage of business in disgusting ways, that you take off your kippah when you do so.
good old facebook:
I give him a week before he comes back
There used to be an active member on the forums with that name. Is this his opinion?
