for those not on facebook, Dan responds beautifully:
His point doesn't address adding false AUs. That's the point that may be harmful to others in the event that there was a maximum signup allowed. I'm sure it would have felt bad if I had signed up a fake AU and that orevented a legitimate person from getting their $30.
What is a false AU?
Is there any reason that adding a false AU isn't simple fraud?
No but that don't stop some. Do you really think the stacks of cards in those pictures were all in that person's name?
of course not, but with ten kids and ten siblings for each spouse and hundreds of cousins they can all be for people who exist and can even conceivably use a card in some situations. If they are business cards then they can be for co-workers etc.
...and they had permission from everyone who's name was on the card to swipe it?
Especially since they are the primary holder and the responsible party.
Why is everyone's assumption that people only added fake AUs, you're able to add yourself multiple times with your social is that's not legitimate?
You might want to read Amex's T&C's.
i had 66 cards
A far cry from 900
yes, but the cry babies on facebook look at me the same way
I didn't read them, but neither did all those cousins. They also would have no problem giving permission for a charge which would be credited back anyhow.
