Can I suggest a simple solution to our current "problem" of tweeting out the advertisements, just ad the word "AD" in the beginning of the tweet to distinguish between deals and ads. I don't mind getting the ads and I have benefited from them, but I wish I knew right away if a tweet is a deal or an ad.
HT:
I am a RSS subscriber to DD, not Twitter, but the same deal applies. Often the headline will draw me in, and then only afterwards I see it is an ad. If Dan were to add the word ad before the headline it would lose all effect. As an advertiser, I wouldn't be too happy about that. If anything, "ad" should be written AFTER the headline.
Almost every free web based service or mobile app comes with ads. It's the nature of the beast. That Dan has it so prominently displayed before the ad starts is more than enough -IMHO.
