Does it automatically go by the price on the date it ships?

For subsequent deliveries I believe it does.

If you ordered in February it would have shipped by March at the latest unless you opted to skip an order.

Tons of these were ordered and I didn't hear of any amazon cancellations.

this is what I did. I ordered in March and then canceled bc it was right before Pesach. I opted for May delivery. They subsequently jacked up my price forcing me to cancel. They wouldn't budge.

The correct way of doing it would be to keep changing your S&S delivery date as was written in the post.

I think you missed my point.  I know that I could have changed the delivery date to get it before Pesach.  My point is that I didn't want it before pesach to sell with my chametz.  I wanted it after pesach to avoid this problem.  My thought process was that as long as it was still my 1st delivery I would get the discounted price even though I was delaying it.  Alas I was wrong.

No, you could have kept pushing your S&S date later and kept your order until after Pesach.
But once you choose skip order you reset everything.

No. When you subscribe you get that price for the first order, if you skip it you lose it, and it will go by the current price on the date of shipping your later order.

Goes by the date the system places the order for the next shipment about 2 weeks before the SS date

@auntiemus - I heard someone else today who had same exact issue, and Amazon wouldn't allow a return either cuz food item, so only left to dispute with amex, otherwise sounds exactly like the same story.

I don't mean to tell people what happened and being charged $250 is a nightmare situation. But in all likelihood I call BS.

They didn't realize you have to change delivery date so instead they skipped the first delivery and assumed the next delivery would be the same price, and thinking they did nothing wrong they complained to Amazon reps that don't know how their website works and told them it seems we cancelled and reordered it right before shipping, which is exactly what is supposed to happen with S&S items for their subsequent deliveries after the first one...

I bought 2 of them when they were $5 and my wife got upset with me! This afternoon I get a text that she can't believe she is saying this, but we ran out of chocolate chips!! We need the price back at $5!!

Just curios if everyone's chocolate chips/chunks were full of white (meaning they were kept out on a shelf for a while before being sold! ) and not in a fridge or freezer) they still taste grt just wanting to know abt them being a bit discolored was it the same by every one?

I didn't get these chocolate chips but have had that with other types and they are totally fine

Did you try baking with them? I am pretty sure that once you bake them they wont look old anymore.
